The Wyndham Active Revitalisation Program is intended to support the sustainability of Wyndham sporting clubs and organisations, through minor capital upgrades which enable them to better engage Wyndham residents to be healthy and active.
Project ideas will originate from community organisations, in a similar model to a grant program, however Council will manage the procurement, quoting and delivery of the project.
Project Funding Streams:
Each club/community organisation can apply for 1x small and 1x medium project for consideration.
Small projects – up to the value of $50,000 (GST Exclusive)
Medium projects – up to the value of $200,000 (GST Exclusive)
Eligibility
Community organisations must be not-for-profit and currently hold, or have held in the last 12 months, a tenancy agreement (lease, licence or hire agreement) at a Wyndham City Council sporting facility (outdoor or indoor).
What projects will be funded:
In line with eligibility criteria, applications may include:
- Minor lighting installations or LED conversions
- Training facilities (cricket nets, batting cages etc)
- Turf cricket wickets (subject to turf wicket allocation process)
- Open Space improvements, including behind goal netting, scoreboards, booking/access systems, portable goals, seating, storage, CCTV or other projects assessed on a case-by-case basis.
- Minor kitchen refurbishments (Capital works)
- Major sports equipment (Capital works)
Please note - Any projects which note an asset within Council's public open space, must be in line with Council's Open Space specifications and guidelines.
Council may consider funding requests outside of Council's Sports Facility Capital Development Guide, which can be found here - Sports Facility Capital Development Guide 2020-2025 | Wyndham City. These requests will only be considered, where the organisation agrees to enter into a formal agreement with Council which places them responsible for the future maintenance and renewal requirements of the asset beyond the initial capital investment, e.g. Electronic Scoreboards.
What projects will not be funded?
- Operational expenses, including uniforms and minor sports equipment
- Projects above the value of $200,000 in the medium stream that have no other form of contributions to cover the funding difference/shortfall
- Projects above the value of $50k in the small stream that have no other form of contributions to cover the difference/shortfall
Please note - No more than 25% of the funding pool will be allocated in any one suburb within the municipality.
*Applications close at midnight on Wednesday 17th September, and no Late applications will be accepted.
